Belle Vue get a number one at Christmas as Pegasus, Clacton and Silver End all win

The year ended with victory for Belle Vue, Stanway Pegasus Reserves, FC Clacton Reserves and Silver End United with three sides make up the top three and leading the way into the New Year.

Belle Vue rose back to the top for Christmas as they eased past Mersea Island. The visitors scored just the 5 on the road as the hosts went top by a +6 goal-difference.

FC Clacton Reserves and Silver End also ended the year on a high.  The Seasiders scored 7 as braces from Cameron Dolphin and Luke Willis as well as goals from Andreas Antoniou-Garcia, Charlie Ellis-Hall and Terrance Kangandu were enough for a huge win but not enough to send them to a Christmas number one as they sit 3rd, a point off the top two. Silver End picked up a narrow win over Hedinghams United, but it was enough to send them second and level on points with Belle Vue.

Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves missed the opportunity to join the top three/four sides as they were beaten despite holding a 2-0 lead. Jack Higgleton and Ryan Lewis had put the hosts ahead but goals from Leighton Gavin, Will Howe and Tariq Mansell were enough as Stanway Pegasus Reserves narrowly beat them. The win for Stanway saw them close the gap on their opponents to two-points, putting them 6th going into the New Year.
