Football returned with the Essex Senior League as Cockfosters, Saffron Walden Town, Southend Manor, St Margaretsbury, Stansted and Walthamstow all recorded wins.
Cockfosters remained third but closed the gap on leaders Hashtag United as they beat Hoddesdon 1-0 at Lowfield. A lone goal from George Beattie in the 92nd minute secured the win for the visitors. There were also 1-0 wins for Stansted and St Margaretsbury. Stansted stayed above Fosters in second and went 2-points closer to the Tags as a Billy Coyne effort in the 22nd minute was enough for the points against rock-bottom Woodford whilst Thomas Cowell was on target for the Bury against Enfield as they opened a 6-point gap over Woodford Town at the bottom end of the table.
Southend Manor reversed their result against Sawbridgeworth and repaid the complement with a victory away from home. Goals from Charlie Daniel and Jake Skeet weren’t enough for Sawbo as Billy Harrison, Kiah Froud and Luke Jackson were on target for Manor to give them a 4-2 win.
Both Walden and Stow kept clean sheets as they both picked up important points. Callum Ibe, Jon Clements and Connor Scully were on target for the Stags as they won 3-0 against Sporting Bengal while goals from Suaibo Balde, Ross Kochen, Luke Wilson and James Crane helped Walden onto a 4-0 victory over Redbridge.
