Harlow Town Ladies have been drawn away to Runwell Sports Ladies in the 2020/21 FA Women’s Cup. The club was entered into the Extra Preliminary Round after 376 sides were accepted into this years competition. Should they win this game, Harlow will travel to either Colney Heath or Herts Vipers in the Preliminary Round.
Dean Perrett and his Harlow Ladies enjoyed a good cup run last season before it was brought to an end by Billericay Town.
Harlow started off in the Preliminary Round, as only 300 sides were accepted into the 2019/20 edition of the competition. They had been drawn to AFC Sudbury and thrashed them 8-0 to progress. In the First Round Qualifying, Harlow had a home tie against King’s Lynn Town where they were victors after a 3-1 scoreline. As the 2nd Qualifying round was drawn, Harlow then welcomed Wroxham to the Harlow Town Arena. After 90 minutes, the score was level and went to Extra-time where Harlow got the victory, winning 4-3, in a tough game.
The incredible run was brought to an end by National League side Billericay Town in Harlow. It had only been a narrow loss to a team that sat in a higher tier but it was still a disappointing loss for Dean and his team. Billericay had won 2-1 in the third Qualifying Round.
Harlow will be looking for another good FA Cup run, although, they’d have to play an extra round if they were to reach the same stage again!
