Gas Rec extend lead at top as Pegasus, Acorns and Athletic also win

Gas Recreation extended their lead at the top of the Essex & Suffolk Border League Premier Division as Stanway Pegasus, Little Oakley Reserves and Brantham Athletic Reserves also won on Saturday.

An emphatic win for Gas Recreation saw them extend their lead as Colne Athletic faced defeat to Stanway Pegasus. Gas Rec beat Dedham Old Boys away from home  as a hattrick for Aston Firkins as well as goals from Kyle Bergin, Callum Rogers and Ryan Taylor was enough to see them win 6-1. The loss of Colne Athletic meant they now fall 4-points behind but having played a game more. A goal from Quentin Daly was not enough for 10-man Athletic as Mahon and Booth scored for the hosts.

Little Oakley Reserves moved up to 5th as they eased past Lawford Lads. Braces for Mayhew and Nicholas Farthing as well as a goal from Jamie Eades was enough for the hosts.

Two goals for 8th-placed West Bergholt were enough as Brantham Athletic Reserves (Sat) moved up to 12th with a huge win. A brace from Matt Hayden as well as goals from Tom Lawson, Tom Watkins and Aidan Carpenter was enough for a shock result.
