Both Cockfosters and Hashtag United maintained their perfect starts to the season while their was also wins for West Essex, Sporting Bengal United, Saffron Walden Town, Sawbridgeworth Town and Southend Manor.
No one expected Cockfosters to be one of the contenders for promotion this season but after a perfect start to the season, they sit top-of-the-table, level on points with Hashtag United. In their third game of the season, they thrashed Clapton 8-1 to record their third league win. A brace from Ryan Wade and goals from Marcus Crowther and Reece Mosanya had given Fosters a 4-0 lead in 12-minutes before Daniel Emovon pulled one back for Clapton just before half-time. Ryan Wade also added another, scoring his hattrick on the stroke of half-time, to give Cockfosters a 5-1 lead at the break. The second-half though saw another three goals for Fosters will no reply from Clapton as Kaidyn Michael and a brace from Ned Clarke made it a comfortable night for the hosts.
Hashtag also came back from a goal down to beat Takeley 3-1. Tom Jelliman gave Takeley a surprise lead before George Smith brought the Tags level from the spot in the 62nd minute. Just as the game looked like it would end in a draw, Josh Osude scored in the last minute to put Hashtag ahead before Osude scored again in added time to confirm the win.
West Essex got their second win of the season as they beat Hoddesdon Town 3-1. Michael Mignot opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Callum Bloss put West 2-0 ahead early in the second-half. A penalty got Town back into it but with 5-minutes to play, an own goal sealed the win for the visitors. Sawbridgeworth also picked up their 2nd win of the season as they beat Woodford Town. Cabham Clarke opened the scoring before Woodford equalised. Kieran Amos continued his run of scoring as he put Sawbo back ahead before Conor Clarke extended the lead from the penalty spot. Woodford pulled another back but their 9-men couldn’t find an equaliser.
Saffron Walden Town and Sporting Bengal United recorded their first wins of the season. For Walden, it was a comfortable 5-0 win over St Margaretsbury following a Craig Cralver hattrick and goals from Alfie Hilton and Dimitri Hatzimouratis. Sporting Bengal came back from 2-0 down to beat Redbridge. Goals from James Barlow and Terry Amoafu put the Motormen in control but a 78th-minute goal from Joel Ramos pulled one back for Bengal before two more goals from Ramos in added time gave Sporting the win.
The game on Tuesday saw Southend Manor stun Walthamstow at the Lodge. Manor took the lead against the run of play before Walthamstow equalised 5-minutes before the break through Jon Clements. Stow had turned it around as James Hammond headed in from David Cowley’s cross but two more goals from Manor in the second-half gave them the 3-points.
Wednesday night also saw victory for Stansted as they beat Enfield. A first-half goal from Ryan Ramsey was enough to give the Airportmen the victory and make it 7 points from a possible 9.
