There are only 3-midweek games in the Eastern Counties League Division One South as Athletic Newham, Hackney Wick and May & Baker all host.
Athletic Newham vs Frenford – Wednesday 21st October, 7.45pm
Newham will welcome Frenford to the Terence McMillan Stadium on Wednesday. They have played 7-games this season, winning 4 and drawing 3, putting them 5th in the league. They haven’t lost a game this season and a win could take them top-of-the-league. Standing in their way is 2nd-place Frenford. ‘Ford have played a game more than Athletic Newham but sit a point above them in the table. They have won 5, drew 1 and lost 2 and a win for Frenford would take them top, having played a game more than current leaders Little Oakley.
Hackney Wick vs Halstead Town – Wednesday 21st October, 7.45pm
Hackney Wick will host Halstead Town on Wednesday. The Wickers find themselves 13th after 8-games having won 1, drew 2 and lost 5. A win could take them as high as 10th but Halstead will try to prevent them moving up the table. Town are a place below Hackney having played only 5-games this season with a record of won 1, drew 1 and lost 3. Halstead have plenty of games in-hand on sides above them and a win against Wick will put them in a string position and could move them as high as 11th.
May & Baker vs Benfleet – Wednesday 21st October, 7.45pm
May & Baker will welcome Benfleet to Parkside, the home of Aveley. For Bakers, they have only played two-games this season, compared to the 5, 6, 7 or 8 games from all other sides. They find themselves rock-bottom having drew 1 and lost 1 but like Halstead will have plenty of opportunity to move up the table. They are only 2-points off Brimsdown and Harwich, and could move up to 14th with a win. Benfleet are 6th having played 6-games, having won 4 and drew 2. They, likes Athletic Newham, remain unbeaten but face a tough test on Wednesday. A win could see them reach as high as second (should other results go their way).
