With 4 sides involved in the FA Vase this weekend, the Eastern Counties League Division One South will see only 5 league fixtures go ahead as Benfleet, Hackney Wick, Halstead Town, Holland FC and Little Oakley all host.
Benfleet vs Wormley Rovers – Saturday 31st October, 3pm
Benfleet will welcome Wormley Rovers to Park Lane, the home of Canvey Island FC. Benfleet are currently sat in 7th after 8-games, having won 4, drew 2 and lost 2 whilst Wormley Rovers find themselves 8th after 7-games, having won 4, drew 1 and lost 2. There is a point difference between these two sides with Rovers being in a better position with the game in-hand. Benfleet’s last game was a 3-1 defeat to Wivenhoe Town, their second in the space of 3-days, whist Wormley were victorious against Frenford, winning 3-0. A win for the hosts could see them leap-frog a number of teams into 3rd whilst a win for the Worms could see them above their opponents with the game advantage and could also see them 3rd, if they pick up a good win that would boost their goal-difference.
Hackney Wick vs Wivenhoe Town – Saturday 31st October, 3pm
Hackney Wick will welcome Wivenhoe Town to Witham Town FC. The Wickers find themselves 12th after 9-games, having won 1, drew 3 and lost 5 whilst Wivenhoe are sat in 4th after 10-games, with a record of won 5, drew 1 and lost 4. Hackney Wick come into this off the back of a 2-2 draw with Brimsdown whilst won their last game just 3-days ago as they were 4-0 winners over Harwich & Parkeston. A win for the East Londoners could see them rise to 11th in the table whilst a win for the Dragons could see them move to the top-of-the-table.
Halstead Town vs Harwich & Parkeston – Saturday 31st October, 3pm
Halstead Town will welcome Harwich & Parkeston to the Millbank Stadium. Halstead find themselves 15th after 5-games, having won 1, drew 1 and lost 3 whilst Harwich are rock-bottom after 10-games, having drew 4 and lost 6. Harwich’s last game was a 4-0 defeat to Wivenhoe Town whilst Halstead were defeated 4-3 to Newbury Forest. A win for the Humbugs could see them go up to 12th whilst the Shrimpers could lift themselves off the bottom with their first win of the season and rise to 12th in the table.
Holland FC vs Athletic Newham – Saturday 31st October, 3pm
Holland FC will welcome Athletic Newham to Dulwich Road on Saturday. Holland are 13th after 6-games, having won 1, drew 2 and lost 3 whilst Newham find themselves 6th after 8-games, with a record of won 4, drew 3 and lost 1. The Tangerines last league game was a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Wormley Rovers whilst the Kings were also defeated in their last game, losing 2-1 to Coggeshall United. A win for the hosts could see them move up to 11th in the table whilst a win for the away side could see them move up to 2nd.
Little Oakley vs Brimsdown – Saturday 31st October, 3pm
Little Oakley will host Brimsdown at the Memorial Ground as they look to return to the summit of the league table. The Acorns currently sit in 2nd after 8-games, having won 6 and lost 2 whilst their opponents sit in 14th after 9-games, having won 1, drew 2 and lost 6. Brimsdown lifted themselves of the bottom with a draw against White Ensign, although they were pegged back to 3-3 whilst Little Oakley’s last game was a narrowly loss to Burnham Ramblers, losing 4-3.
