Preview: Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division – Gameweek 6

All sides but Haringey Borough Women and Luton Town Ladies will be in league action on Sunday as Borough take on Actonians in the Capital Women’s Cup. Harlow Town Ladies, St Ives Town Ladies and Royston Town Women be back in league action after FA Cup games last weekend. I take a closer look at the ties.

AFC Dunstable Women vs Royston Town Women – Sunday 25th October

AFC Dunstable will welcome Royston Town to Creasey Park on Sunday. Dunstable find themselves 10th after 5-games, having won 1 and lost 4. Royston Town are sat a place below in 11th after just two-games with a draw and a loss. The OD’s last game was on the 11th October as they lost 4-1 to Peterborough Northern Star but Royston come into this off the back of a win in the FA Cup after being Stevenage 5-3 on penalties. A win for the hosts could see them move as high as 4th whilst a first win for the Crows could see them move above AFC Dunstable into 10th.

Bedford Ladies vs Colney Heath Ladies – Sunday 25th October

Bedford will host Colney Heath Ladies on Sunday. Bowers & Pitsea are 8th in the league after 4-games with a single win and draw as well as 2 losses. The hosts come into this off the back of a 5-1 loss to Harlow Town in the FA Cup whilst Bowers were 1-0 victors over league-leaders Wymondham Town. A victory for St Ives could see them 2nd with 10-points whilst a win for Bowers could see them as high as 3rd.

Wroxham Women vs Harlow Town Ladies – Sunday 25th October 

Wroxham Women will welcome Harlow Town Ladies to Trafford Park on Saturday. The Yachtswomen are currently 4th after 3-games with 2 wins and a draw whilst Harlow Town are 6th with the same record but are below their opponents by a single goal-difference. Wroxham’s last game was a 5-2 win over Haringey Borough last weekend whilst Harlow come into this off the back of a 5-1 win over St Ives in the FA Cup. A win for either side could see them move up to 2nd.

Wymondham Town Women vs Peterborough Northern Star Ladies – Sunday 25th October 

Wymondham Town will welcome Peterborough Northern Star to Kett’s Park on Sunday. Wymondham after top-of-the-league after 5-games, with a record of won 4 and lost 1. Their opponents, Peterborough, are 2nd after 4 games, having won 3 and lost 1. Wymondham’s last game was their first defeat of the season as they were narrowly beaten by Bowers whilst Peterborough come into this game off the back of a 10-0 thrashing against Ipswich Town in the FA Cup.
