With another week without Hadley featuring in the Essex Senior League, they are bound to drop further down the table. Their will also be no game for either Hoddesdon or Redbridge as Town await test results. Following the weekend’s results, Hashtag United moved top-of-the-league with a win over Cockfosters and will hope to open the gap, albeit temporarily whilst Stansted, Walthamstow and Cockfosters will continue the battle for 2nd-place.
Hashtag United vs Clapton – Monday 19th October, 7.45pm
Monday Night Football will see Hashtag United welcome Clapton to Pitsea. The hosts won their last game against leaders Cockfosters to change who sat on the throne with a tight 2-1 win. The win added to the record of won 7 and lost 1. For Clapton, they were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline with a loss against Redbridge. The Tons have drew 4 and lost 4, putting them 17th in the table. Although Clapton are looking for their first win of the season, I think Hashtag will be too strong and will get the win.
Score prediction – 3-0
Sawbridgeworth Town vs Sporting Bengal United – Tuesday 20th October, 7.45pm
Sawbridgeworth Town will welcome Sporting Bengal to Crofters End on Tuesday. Sawbo were well beaten on Saturday as they went up against Walthamstow, losing 7-0 but will look to bounce back. The loss was their 5th of the season and saw them drop to 13th in the table having won 2, drew 2 and lost 5 whilst Sporting Bengal picked up a 4-3 win over Ilford. Bengal currently sit in 12th having won 3, drew 1 and lost 4. I think Sawbridgeworth will get back to winning ways and leap-frog Bengal in the table.
Score prediction – 2-1
Southend Manor vs Saffron Walden Town – Tuesday 20th October, 7.45pm
Southend Manor will welcome Saffron Walden Town to Southchurch Park on Tuesday. Manor didn’t have a game at the weekend as they were due to play Hadley but have won 4 and lost 3 of their opening 7-games. Saffron Walden were 4-0 victors Hoddesdon Town, moving them up to 6th. They have won 3, drew 4 and lost 2. I think Walden will be too strong as will get the 3-points.
Score prediction – 0-3
St Margaretsbury vs Walthamstow – Tuesday 20th October, 7.45pm
St Margaretsbury will welcome Walthamstow to the Recreation Ground. St Mags were defeated in their last match, losing 3-1 to Stansted. The defeat was their 3rd on the season taking their record to won 1, drew 3 and lost 3. Walthamstow come into this game off the back of a 7-0 win over Sawbo, putting them 4th, having won 5 and lost 3. I think Walthamstow will get another win against a tough Bury side.
Score prediction – 1-3
Takeley vs Stansted – Tuesday 20th October, 7.45pm
Takeley will host Stansted at the FSI Stadium. Takeley sit in 11th having won 3, drew 1 and lost 4, with their last game a 2-1 win over Woodford Town. The Airportmen’s last game saw them beat St Mags 3-1, adding to their record of won 5, drew 1 and lost 2. Takeley have struggled this season and I think they will be defeated by a very strong Stansted side.
Score prediction – 0-2
Enfield vs Woodford Town – Wednesday 21st October, 7.45pm
Enfield will host Woodford Town on Wednesday evening. The E’s come into this off the back of a 5-1 defeat away to West Essex, meaning they’ve won 1, drew 2 and lost 5. Woodford sit rock-bottom having lost all 8 of their games so far this season, including their last game which was a 2-1 loss against Takeley. Both Enfield and the Woods have struggled this season and I think the spoils will be shared.
Score prediction – 2-2
Ilford vs West Essex – Wednesday 21st October, 7.45pm
Ilford will welcome West Essex to Cricklefield on Wednesday. Ilford sit 15th after winning 1, drew 2 and lost, and come into this off the back of a 4-3 loss to Sporting Bengal. West Essex won their last game against Enfield, by a score of 5 goals to one, adding to their record of won 4, drew 1 and lost 3. I think West Essex, with their form will win this one.
Score prediction – 1-4
