Preview: Essex Senior League – Gameweek 14

Football is finally back and so is the Essex Senior League. As Clapton, Hashtag United, Hadley and Ilford fly the flag for the ESL in the FA Vase today, 6 Premier Division games are scheduled to go ahead which could see plenty of movement in the table.

St Margaretsbury vs Enfield – Satruday 5th December, 3pm

St Margaretsbury will welcome Enfield to the Recreation Ground on Saturday. The Bury are 16th after 9-games, having won 1, drew 3 and lost 5 whilst Enfield are 13th with a record of won 3, drew 2 and lost 6. When these sides met last time, it finished with a goalless draw but both sides will be looking to move up in the table. I think it will be another draw.

Score prediction – 1-1

Hoddesdon Town vs Cockfosters – Satruday 5th December, 3pm

Hoddesdon Town will hope to leap-frog their opponents Cockfosters when they meet at Lowfield this afternoon. Hoddesdon are 5th after 11-games having won 6, drew 1 and lost 4 while Fosters are 3rd, having won 6, drew 2 and lost 1. When these sides last met, on the opening day, it was a 3-1 win for Cockfosters. I think Hoddesdon will nick the win at home as they have done with sides already this season.

Score prediction – 2-1

Saffron Walden Town vs Redbridge – Satruday 5th December, 3pm

Saffron Walden Town are home against Redbridge this afternoon as they welcome the Motormen to Catons Lane. The Bloods find themselves 4th after a difficult start to the season as they have won 5, drew 4 and lost 4 whilst Redbridge are 10th after 7-games, with a record of won 4, drew 1 and lost 2. Saffron Walden came back late on to claim a point at Oakside when these sides met on week 1 but I think Walden will be too strong at home after strengthening their squad.

Score prediction – 4-0

Sawbridgeworth Town vs Southend Manor – Satruday 5th December, 3pm

Sawbridgeworth Town will welcome Southend Manor to Crofters End on Saturday. Sawbo find themselves 12th after an improved start to the season after 12-games, having won 3, drew 3 and lost 6 whilst Manor are 14th after 10-games with a record of won 5, drew 1 and lost 4. Sawbridgeworth picked up a huge win on the opening day of the season, winning 5-2 against Manor, but I think it will end in a win for Manor who have been very strong on the road.

Score prediction – 2-4

Stansted vs Woodford Town – Saturday 5th December, 3pm

Stansted will face Woodford Town at Hargrave Park on Saturday. The Airportmen are 2nd, behind leaders Hashtag United by 5-points, after winning 7, drawing 2 and losing 3 whilst Woodford Town are bottom of the league, despite picking up their first win, as they recorded 1 win and 10 losses. I think Stansted will be too strong for the Woods and will take the opportunity to close the gap on the Tags.

Score prediction – 4-0

Walthamstow vs Sporting Bengal United – Saturday 5th December, 5pm

Walthamstow are back home for the restart as they welcome Sporting Bengal to the Lodge. Stow are 7th after 9-games, having won 6 and lost 3 whilst Bengal are 11th after 11-games, with a record of won 4, drew 1 and lost 6. It was a win for Walthamstow at Mile End on the opening day as they won 3-1 but I think they will be a lot stronger and pick up another good win.

Score prediction – 3-0
