Preview: Essex Senior League – Gameweek 15

After a weekend of football and what feels like a very long week, football is about back as the Essex Senior League gears up for its second Gameweek since the lockdown was lifted.

West Essex vs Woodford Town – Friday 11th December, 7.45pm

West Essex play for the second time in a week as they host Woodford Town at Mayesbrook Park on Friday Evening. Following West’s 3-2 victory over Stansted on Monday, they find themselves 9th after 11-games, with a record of won 5, drew 1 and lost 5 whilst their opponents find themselves bottom of the league after 12-games, with 1 win and 11 losses, with their last game also coming against Stansted. West Essex will look to close the gap on the top 6 with a win while Woodford Town will hope they could lift themselves off the bottom. I think West Essex will be too strong at home and will get the win.

Score prediction – 3-0

Clapton vs St Margaretsbury – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Clapton will welcome St Margaretsbury to the Terence McMillan Stadium on Saturday. Clapton find themselves a point off the bottom after 10-games, with a record of drew 4 and lost 6 while St Margaretsbury are a place above (16th) but with a 5-point gap over their opponents having won 2, drew 3 and lost 5. Clapton will hope they can open up a gap between themselves and Woodford while St Mags will hope to move up the table. I think the visitors will just nick the win.

Score predication – 0-1

Cockfosters vs Sporting Bengal United – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Cockfosters will hope to build on their late win over Hoddesdon as they welcome Sporting Bengal to Chalk Lane. Fosters find themselves 3rd after 10-games, having won 7, drew 2 and lost 1 while their opponents sit 11th after facing defeat to Walthamstow with a record of won 4, drew 1 and lost 7. Cockfosters will hope to return to 2nd-place and close the gap on Hashtag United while Bengal will hope to move up the table. I think Cockfosters will be too strong once again and will get the win.

Score prediction – 2-1

Enfield vs Hoddesdon Town – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Enfield will face Hoddesdon Town at the Prokit Stadium on Saturday. The E’s find themselves 14th after 12-games, having won 3, drew 2 and lost 7 while Hoddesdon are 6th after the same amount of games, with a record of won 6, drew 1 and lost 5. Enfield will hope to get their first win since the restart following their loss to St Margaretsbury while Hoddesdon Town will be hoping for the same after they were defeated late by Cockfosters. I think the spoils will be shared at the weekend.

Score prediction – 2-2

Hashtag United vs Sawbridgeworth Town – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Hashtag United return to league action following their defeat to Fakenham in the FA Vase as they welcome Sawbridgeworth Town to the Len Salmon Stadium. Hashtag are sat top of the league after 11-games, having won 9, drew 1 and lost 1 while Sawbo find themselves 13th after 13-games, with a record of won 3, drew 3 and lost 7. Hashtag hope to either hold their lead or extend their lead at the top while Sawbo will hope they could move into midtable. I think Hashtag will be too strong and will win comfortably.

Score predication – 4-1

Saffron Walden Town vs Ilford – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Saffron Walden Town will hope to continue their rise up the table following their difficult start to the season as they welcome Ilford to Catons Lane. Walden find themselves 4th after 14-games, having won 6, drew 4 and lost 4 while Ilford are 15th after 10-games, having won 2, drew 3 and lost 5. Ilford hope to hop up the table but face a tough test away from home and I think the Bloods will be too strong for the Foxes.

Score prediction – 4-0

Southend Manor vs Stansted – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Southend Manor will welcome Stansted to Southchurch Park on Saturday. Manor find themselves 12th after 11-games, with a record of won 6, drew 1 and lost 4 while Stansted are 2nd with a record of won 8, drew 2 and lost 4. I think Stansted will edge this away from home.

Score prediction – 2-3

Takeley vs Hadley – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Takeley face a huge game against Hadley as both look to rise closer to the top of the table. Takeley struggled at the start of the season but find themselves 8th after 11-games with a record of won 5, drew 1 and lost 5 while Hadley are 7th after just 7-games, with a record of won 6 and lost 1. Hadley are behind in the campaign due to their involvement in the FA Cup and FA Vase but will hope to rise up the table while Takeley will hope to leap-frog them. I think Hadley will edge this contest.

Score prediction – 0-1

Walthamstow vs Redbridge – Saturday 12th December, 3pm

Walthamstow will now welcome Redbridge to Wadham Lodge on Saturday as the Oakside pitch won’t be playable. Walthamstow are sat in 5th after 10-games, having won 7 and lost 3 while their opponents are 10th after 8-games, with a record of won 4, drew 1 and lost 3. Walthamstow will hope they can continue their rise towards the top, finding themselves 4-games behind 2nd-place Stansted while Redbridge will hope they can move into the top half of the table. I think Walthamstow will get the win at home against a struggling Redbridge.

Score prediction – 4-0
