Preview: Essex & Suffolk Border League Division One

As another Essex & Suffolk Border League weekend is almost upon us, I have taken a close look at all the fixtures. There are some huge games which mean there is bound to be plenty of movement throughout the table. Dunmow Town are back in action as they travel to Silver End United whilst Stanway Pegasus Reserves host FC Clacton Reserves and Shurb End United welcome Mersea Island.

Boxted Lodgers vs Belle Vue Social Club – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Boxted Lodgers will welcome league-leaders Belle Vue to King George Playing Fields on Saturday. Boxted find themselves 16th after 6-games, having won one and lost 5. Belle Vue have opened up a 5-point gap at the top-of-the-league having won all 6 of their games. A win for Belle Vue could see them open up an 8-point gap after just 7-games whilst a win for Boxted could see them up to 12th in the league.

Coggeshall United Reserves vs West Bergholt Reserves – Satruday 24th October, 3pm

Coggeshall United Reserves will face up to another reserve side as they host West Bergholt. Coggeshall currently sit 8th after 7-games, having won 3, drew 1 and lost 3 whilst West Bergholt Reserves sit rock-bottom having lost their first 4-games. A win for Coggeshall could see them go as high as 2nd-place while a win for the visitors could lift them off the bottom and take them as high as 15th.

Cressing United vs Stanway Rovers Reserves – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Cressing United will welcome Stanway Rovers Reserves to the Cressing Sports and Social Club. United find themselves 10th after 6-games, with a record of won 2, drew 1 and lost 3. Their opponents sit 14th after 5-games, having won 1, drew 1 and lost 3. A win for Cressing could see them up to 8th while a win for the Reserves could see them move up to 10th in the league.

Gosfield United vs Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Gosfield United will welcome Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves to Church Road Playing Fields on Saturday. Gosfield sit 11th in the league after 6-games, having won 2, drew 1 and lost 3 whilst Rangers sit in 3rd after 6-games with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. A win for Gosfield could take them up to 8th whilst a win for Alresford could see them up to 2nd and closing the gap on Belle Vue.

Hedinghams United vs Tiptree Jobserve – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Hedinghams United will host Tiptree Jobserve on Saturday. The hosts find themselves 15th after 6-games, having won 1 and lost 5. Their opponents sit towards the other end of the table, in 2nd, 5-games. Their record sees them having won 4 and drew 1. Tiptree will hope to remain unbeaten along side Belle Vue and a win could see them close the gap on the league leaders whilst a win for Hedinghams could see them move up to 12th.

Shrub End United vs Mersea Island – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Shrub End United will welcome Mersea Island to Shrub End Sports Ground. Shrub End sit in 9th after 6-games with a record of won 3 and lost 3 whilst Mersea Island sit 12, having won 2 and lost 3. A win for Shrub End could move them up to 4th while a win for Mersea could see them up to 9th in the league.

Silver End United vs Dunmow Town – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Silver End United will host Dunmow Town on Saturday. Silver End sit in 5th after 6-games, having won 4 and lost 2 whilst Dunmow Town sit in 4th, having won 5 and lost 1 while also having a +20 better goal-difference over their opponents. A win for either side could take them up to 2nd-place and within 3-points of the league-leaders (should they get defeated).

Stanway Pegasus Reserves vs FC Clacton Reserves – Saturday 24th October, 3pm

Stanway Pegasus Reserves will welcome fellow-Reserve side FC Clacton on Saturday. Pegasus sit in 6th after 6-games, having won 4 and lost 2 whilst their opponents sit a place below after 6-games, having won 3, drew 2 and lost 1.
