Preview: Essex & Suffolk Border League

Another weekend of Essex & Suffolk Border league is upon us with some huges games. Belle Vue will look for an 8th straight win and continued their perfect start to the season whilst 15th will face 16th and 9th will play 10th.

Coggeshall United Reserves vs Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

Coggeshall United Reserves will host the Reserves of Alresford Colne Rangers on Saturday. Coggeshall find themselves 6th after 8-games, having won 4, drew 1 and lost 3 whilst Alresford are 2nd after 7-games, having won 5, drew 1 and lost 1. Both sides come into this off the back of a win, with both sides also scoring 5 goals each; Coggeshall defeated West Bergholt Reserves 5-2 whilst Alresford won 5-1 against Gosfield on the road. A win for the hosts could see them move as high as second, above their opponents whilst a win for the away side could see them close the gap of top-of-the-league to just 2 points.

FC Clacton Reserves vs Mersea Island – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

FC Clacton Reserves will host Mersea Island on Saturday. The hosts currently sit in 5th after 7-games, with a record of won 4, drew 2 and lost 1 whilst their opponents currently sit in 11th after 6-games, having won 2, drew 1 and lost 3. Clacton Reserves were victorious in their last game, winning 3-1 against Stanway Rovers Reserves whilst Mersea Island were held against Shurb End as they played out a 3-3 draw. A win for the Reserves could see them move up to 2nd whilst a win for the visitors could see them move up to 9th.

Hedinghams United vs Boxted Lodgers – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

Hedinghams United will welcome Boxted Lodgers to Lawn Meadow. The hosts find themselves 15th after 7-games, having won 1 and lost 6 whilst their opponents have the same record but sit below them with a -8 goal-difference. Hedinghams come into this game off the back of a 3-2 loss to Tiptree Jobserve whilst Boxted were also defeated, losing 2-1 to the league leaders. A win for either side could see them lift themselves to 13th in the table.

Holland A vs Silver End United – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

Holland A will host Silver End United on Saturday. Holland find themselves 13th after 8-games, having won 1, drew 2 and lost 5 whilst Silver End currently sit in 4th after 7-games, having won 5, and lost 2. Holland come into this off the back of a 3-0 loss to Cressing United 2-weeks ago whilst Silver End picked up a huge win over Dunmow Town. A win for the hosts could see them move up to 11th whilst another win for Silver End United could see them move up to 2nd in the table.

Shrub End United vs Cressing United – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

Shrub End United will welcome Cressing United to Shurb End Sports Ground on Saturday. The hosts sit in 10th after 7-games, having won 3, drew 1 and lost 3 whilst Cressing United are 9th in the table after 7-games with the same record. Shrub End drew 3-3 in the last game with Mersea Island whilst Cressing United were winners against Stanway Rovers Reserves, winning 4-2. Belle Vue Social Club vs Dunmow Town – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

The biggest game of the weekend will see Belle Vue host Dunmow Town. Belle Vue Social Club sit top-of-the-league having won all 7 of their games whilst Dunmow Town are 7th after 7-games, having won 4 and lost 3. Belle Vue opened up the gap at the top to 5-points after they beat Boxted Lodgers 2-1 whilst Dunmow were defeated 2-1 by Silver End United. Belle Vue would remain top with a win and could increase their lead to 8-points whilst Dunmow Town could move up to 4th and close the gap on their opponents.

Stanway Pegasus Reserves vs Gosfield United – Saturday 31st October, 3pm

Stanway Pegasus Reserves will host Gosfield United on Saturday.
