Essex Senior League action returns to Wadham Lodge on Saturday following the clubs’ excellent performance in the FA Cup. Walthamstow welcome Stansted to the Lodge as they look to add to their 7-0 win over Tower Hamlets.

Walthamstow have only played the one game so far. The opening weekend saw them thrashed Tower Hamlets 7-0 before having their turn at a break and facing Sporting Bengal United in the FA Cup.

For Stansted, they have already played two games in the League. They beat Ilford 1-0 on the opening day before losing 1-0 Enfield midweek and then suffered a 4-1 loss in the FA Cup to Barkingside.

When these two met last season, both sides got their home wins. They first met on 30th October when Stansted beat Walthamstow 2-1 before the match at the Lodge on 9th February finished 1-0 in favour of Stow.

Walthamstow will certainly be favourites for this game (as they will be for a lot of games this season) but the Essex Senior is a very competitive league and you can’t always be sure. Stow sit in 6th whilst Stansted are in 10th, both on 3 points.
