Harlow Town Ladies have been drawn at home to Royston Town Ladies in the FA Women’s Cup.
The Hawks made it to the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Women’s Cup for the second consecutive season as they progressed with a 5-1 win over St Ives Town Ladies. Kaydee King had given Harlow an early lead, 2-minutes to be exact, as she headed in a corner. Olivia Steele doubled the lead 5-minutes later as she smashed home from close range. Georgia Box scored an outstanding goal as she ran in from the right-hand side and smashed the ball off the underside of the crossbar to give the Reds a 3-0 lead. The Saints pulled one back through Ella Burnley but an own goal 5-minutes before the break meant Harlow took a 4-1 lead in to half-time. An early second half goal from Tayla Handscombe sealed the win for Harlow.
The journey for Harlow in the 2020/21 season began in the Extra Preliminary Round to Runwell Sports. It was a comfortable victory for Harlow despite Runwell giving it their all as braces from Georgia Box and Olivia Steele as well as a goal each for Chloe Bassett and Daisy Jenkins helped the Hawks onto a 6-0 victory. In the Preliminary round, they were drawn against fellow-Eastern Regions Women’s Football League side Colney Heath, again away from home. Despite finding themselves 3-2 behind, Harlow progressed winning 4-3. Georgia Box scored the winning goal from the spot in the 88th-minute to send Harlow through whilst the other goals came from Olivia Steele, Chloe Bassett and Vikki Wotton.
In the First Qualifying Round, a lone goal from Georgia Box was enough to send Harlow through against a tough Bowers & Pitsea side, with the game threatening to go either way.
The tie is set to be played on Sunday 1st November.
