After a decent October that saw Walthamstow progress in the FA Vase and remain unbeaten in the Essex Senior League, they faced a tough November which saw them come up against 3 of the top 6 and 3 potential title rivals.

November 2nd, 2019: The first game on November saw Walthamstow go up against AFC Uckfield Town in the FA Vase. Despite a muddy and problematic pitch, Walthamstow took the lead when Ollie Fortune headed in at the far post. The Stags went into the half-time break leading one-nil but Uckfield equalised just six minutes into the second half. 4 minutes later, the visitors had turned the tide and led when Ellis Cormack poked home. Richie Welch then added a third with 15 minutes to play to give Stow an uphill battle before Samrai Gebrai headed in a Danny McCullock cross but it wasn’t enough as the FA Vase journey ended in the second round.

November 9th, 2019: Following deafeat in the FA Vase, Walthamstow had to refocus quickly as they faced one of their title rivals in Saffron Walden Town. Right from the off, Walden played with a back-5 as they tried to null any Walthamstow attack and did so superbly as the teams drew 0-0, although they had opportunities to score themselves.

November 12th, 2019: Walthamstow welcomes Woodford Town to Wadham Lodge as they looked to remain unbeaten following the draw to Walden. The pitch conditions were difficult for both sides but two goals in quick succession were enough for Walthamstow to win 2-0. Callum Ibe gave us the lead in the 35th minute before Dwade James added a second in the 40th minute.

November 16th, 2019: The first away game of November saw Walthamstow travel to Mile End as they took on Tower Hamlets. The opening day had seen Walthamstow thrash Hamlets 7-0 so goals were expected. Stow came away with a 4-0 victory with goals from Dwade James (15″), Steven Carvell (44″), Ollie Fortune (65″) and Lewis Francis (72″).

November 19th, 2019: Walthamstow faced their first defeat in the league as they welcomed Takeley to Wadham Lodge. The game was a fiery and difficult game for both side with both teams struggling to find a breakthrough. Takeley scored the one and only goal in the 83rd minute when Nick Barratt slotted past Bransgrove to win the game.

November 23rd, 2019: Following their first league defeat, Walthamstow looked to respond against Southend Manor. They had already beaten Manor 4-1 in Southend and beat them in style at the Lodge. Callum Ibe had given Stow the lead in the 3rd minute before Dwade James scored a hattrick and Emiel Aiken added one before time. Emiel Aiken then scored a second in the second half whilst Lewis Francis also added on 10 minutes later in the 82nd minute.

November 26, 2019: A league break was welcomed by Stow as they faced St Margaretsbury in the Errington Challenge Cup. Billy Jones had given Walthamstow the lead in the 4th minute before Lewis Francis scored just before half-time to win it for Walthamstow and send them through.

November 30, 2019: The last game of November saw Walthamstow face another title-rival in Hashtag United. The game was very much like the Takeley game as neither side could really take their chances. It also ended in the same way when Josh Osude broke in the 90th minute to win the game for Hashtag United. A damning defeat and Walthamstow’s second league loss in a month.
